This riqq drum has a body made from figured ash with a natural deerskin head. The zils are hand-cut from heavy brass.

This is a large frame drum called a Duff, made from veneers of maple and curly maple struts. The head is natural deerskin.

At lower right is the frame mold for the drum.

A small stool for drumming or a foot stool of birds eye and figured maple.

A very tall and narrow bookcase of figured cherry to take advantage of restricted space.

The shelves are adjustable in height.

Greenland Kayak, built from lines in the Smithsonian Collection.

Erebus on the water

1) Plans developed from lines taken from a native Greenland boat in 1927 in S. W. Greenland.

2) A very fast and nimble boat.

3) Will overtake many stronger paddlers in slower boats.

This 1926 Old Town canoe received new canvas, new floor boards and paint.

This is a 1960 Old Town Otca, I canvased in the fall and let cure over the winter suspended from the ceiling in my shop.

Here are the new outrails being rabbeted and the cured canvas trimmed.
